Veteran’s Day, a single day of special thanks in honor of those who served honorably. We must applaud the good soldiers of our uniforms elevating them above those who did not serve well or behave well since.
McVeigh, Bergdahl, John Kerry, the Fort Hood shooter, John McCain and others are veterans too, so I am careful to express my gratitude to the deserving and not those disgraced.
I do not honor all veterans, I honor those who fulfilled their duty and those who came home to do no harm to our nation.
To the many Generals who took an oath ignored for the past 8 years, I have no regard. They sat quietly in the face of domestic enemies.
The former soldiers participating in the horrible operations of some VA systems, I believe you guilty of crimes against your Brothers and Sisters in arms.
To those now serving well with honorable service behind them and those who fell in our service, I offer a humble thank-you and prayers for blessings through eternity.
The other veterans often left out are the families of our soldiers because they all share the fear of their loved ones fate and the children and spouses often live poorly during their years of military life.
I thank and pray for all of them, too.
For a nation taking this day to honor them, I say we are not doing enough. One day does not solve the tragedy of problems facing our military and vets while it is our duty to care for them.
We must do more, we must stand for our soldiers instead of just saying we do.
We owe them that.
